The Aridex works on all types of fabric including velvet, chenille, jacquard, weaves, tapestry and sealed leather (old unsealed leather is the exception which can be cleaned by polishing). It also cleans mattresses and small, well used surfaces like stair carpets, particularly if they are laid on a hard surface.

Most fabrics are ‘scrubbed’ and pre-vacuumed and then treated with a dry, high-density foam ‘like the head of a pint of Guinness’ and finally sucked dry. Composed of just 10% moisture, the eco-friendly foam is designed to penetrate the fabric but not the backing materials.

We treat every material with great care, normally doing a test clean on parts that people can’t see, such as the back of a cushion, before deciding to work on the main items.

Most fabric stains are from food spillages, such as soup or spaghetti, and hot drinks. If you spill black coffee, we advise dabbing it immediately with a clean white cloth soaked in cold water as heat tends to dye the colour into the fabric. Then call us!

The Aridex machine has a powerful wet/dry vacuum to pre-vacuum the upholstery before cleaning. The machine converts detergent solution into a dry dense foam with only 10% moisture. The unique brushing head, with counter rotating brushes and foam control switch, loosens, breaks down and traps the soil. And because the foam is low-moisture, it only penetrates the fabric and not the backing materials. Once an area is clean, the built in vacuum removes the dirty foam and most fabrics are dry within 30 minutes.
